Day V of MEE is the Power-Up Day — the single session where building your city, researching tech, training troops, and upgrading Citadel facilities all convert directly into event points. Most players treat it like any other day and leave a huge pile of points on the table. The players who finish in the top ranks know one thing the rest don't: you can effectively double your Day V score by timing your completions correctly starting on Day IV.
🔑 Core mechanic: Power-Up points are scored when an action completes — not when it starts. A build or research queued and sped up on Day IV, then left with just seconds remaining, will score its full Day V points the instant you tap "Complete" on Day V.
Day V Scoring Rates
Not all power types score equally. Understanding the table below is the foundation of your Day V plan:
| Power Type | Points per +1 Power | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tech Power Best | 60 | Highest rate — prioritise research first |
| Building Power | 30 | Upgrades to any city building |
| Troop / Promote Power | 30 | Training new troops or promoting existing ones |
| Citadel Facility Power MEE Only | Varies | Depends on facility level — count every upgrade |
⚠️ The #1 mistake: Players see 60 pts per power and assume everything scores at 60 pts. It doesn't. Only Tech Power scores at 60. Buildings and troops are both 30. Burning every speedup on Day IV — and then completing everything the morning of Day IV thinking points are already in — means you scored 0 points on the Day V phase entirely.
The Queue-and-Complete Strategy
This is the single most impactful Day V mechanic and almost nobody talks about it. The idea is simple:
Timing Your Troop Training
Troop training follows the exact same logic. A training queue started and completed on Day IV scores zero Day V points. Time it correctly and those same troops score 30 pts per power on Day V:
- Do not complete training on Day IV. If your queue finishes automatically, reduce the batch size so it stretches into Day V.
- Use your training speed boosts on Day IV to fill the queue — just don't let the timer hit zero before Day V opens.
- Promotions (promoting T9→T10, for example) also score at 30 pts per power gained — include these in your timing plan.
- If you have multiple training queues, stagger them so they each complete in sequence during Day V rather than all at once on Day IV.
Citadel Facilities (MEE Only)
The Citadel Facility Power category is unique to MEE and is worth serious attention. Each facility upgrade generates Citadel Power, which counts separately from your city's Building Power:
- Plan your Citadel upgrades ahead of Day V. Higher-level facilities generate more power per upgrade — upgrade your highest-level facility first.
- The queue-and-complete strategy works here too: start a Citadel upgrade on Day IV, speed it almost to completion, then finish it on Day V.
- Coordinate with your alliance — some Citadel upgrades require alliance contributions, so schedule these in alliance chat before Day V.
- Don't overlook lower Citadel facilities. If you have spare time on Day V and the higher ones are maxed, every facility level still contributes points.
💡 Pro tip: Tech research is 2× more valuable than buildings or troops (60 vs 30 pts/power). If you have both a major research and a building upgrade ready, always complete the research first — it scores the most and sets a higher baseline for your Day V total.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Completing everything on Day IV: You score nothing on Day V for actions already finished. Hold at least one major build and one major research for Day V completion.
- Assuming troops score 60 pts: Only Tech Power is 60. Troop and Building Power are 30. Don't over-invest speedups in troops at the expense of research.
- Letting the timer expire naturally: If your build finishes at 3am on Day IV night, those points are gone. Set a phone alarm or reduce the batch size so you control the completion time.
- Ignoring Citadel in MEE: This is a free bonus category that many players forget. Even one Citadel upgrade completed on Day V is more points than nothing.
- Not stacking Day IV speedup bonuses: If Day IV has a speedup event running, use those speedups to advance your builds — you're getting more time per speedup, so the queue-and-complete setup costs you fewer items.
